Each region you take raises the next region's tier — easy, medium, hard. The Lord of Ezo, in Hokkaidō, fights at master difficulty with a three-strike limit.

- Yes. The game is free to download and play on iOS and Android. An optional one-time upgrade unlocks the full campaign, unlimited Samurai Sudoku, and personal stats. There are no subscriptions.
- Yes. Every puzzle, every rank, and the daily challenge are fully playable without an internet connection, and your progress lives on your device. The only optional online feature is the daily challenge leaderboard, which you can submit to (or ignore) when you finish a daily puzzle.
- Every day, everyone gets the same Classic and Samurai daily puzzles. When you finish one, you can post your time to a global daily leaderboard, with separate boards for Classic and Samurai. It's anonymous: no email or account, just a display name of your choice. Only your fastest time per day is kept, and you can skip submitting and play offline anytime.
- Each puzzle is generated and then solver-verified to require only logical techniques. No guessing. Difficulty is calibrated by which techniques are required, not by how many cells are blank.
- Ranks go from Novice to Shogun and reflect your lifetime experience — every win earns XP toward the next rank. Puzzles themselves come in four difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Master, with required techniques scaling from singles up to X-Wings.
- Sudoku is a focused workout for short-term memory, pattern recognition, and structured reasoning. It won't make you superhuman, but a daily puzzle is one of the cheapest, most enjoyable mental routines you can build.
